William & Mary 1694 silver Fourpence, first busts, reads MΛRIA, spread date
William and Mary (1689-94), silver Fourpence, 1694, Roman I in very spread date, conjoined first busts right, no ties or letters below busts, small letter spread legend reads GVLIELMVS ET. MΛRIA. D.G, no stop after King's name, first A unbarred in Queen's name, rev. crowned mark of value, legend surrounds MAG. BR. FR. ET. HIB. REX. ET. REGINA, weight 1.90g (Seaman 108 dies W/16; Bull.901 R2; ESC.1878A; Robinson p.152: 114 (1); S.3439). Toned a bold fine and extremely rare, Seaman suggested this obverse dies was only known from one example, if so this is the second one known.
The Latin legends translate to on obverse "William and Mary by the Grace of God" continuing on the reverse as "King and Queen of Great Britain, France and Ireland.
