William and Mary (1689-1694), silver Threepence, 1690, no stop after date which had retrograde Arabic 1, conjoined first busts right now divide legend with stop over head, GV below busts, reads GVLIELMVS. ET . MARIA. D G, note only three stops in legend, rev. crowned mark of value, legend surrounds MAG. BR. FR. ET. HIB. REX. ET. REGINA., weight 1.74g (Bull.923; ESC. 1989; Robinson p.151: 97 [iii]; Seaman 60 obv. D + rev. 8; S.3441). Toned, haymarked reverse, has been slabbed and graded by NGC as AU55.

NGC Certification 8220387-006 - currently the joint finest graded example at NGC and superior to the finest at PCGS.

The Latin legends translate to on obverse "William and Mary by the Grace of God" continuing on the reverse as "King and Queen of Great Britain, France and Ireland.

The 1690 Fourpence, Threepence and penny are the only small silver coins of this date with no maundy set available.
