William IV 1836 silver Pattern Groat PF65, finest known, extremely rare

William IV (1830-1837), Pattern silver Groat, 1836, William Wyon, bust right with plain truncation, toothed borders both sides, legend surrounds GULIELMUS IIII D:G: BRITANNIAR: REX F: D:, rev. Britannia seated on oval shield bearing union flag right with trident in, 4 - P in field either side, date in exergue, edge plain, 1.86g (Bentley. 301; Bull. 2528 R2; ESC.1927; S.3837). Rich steel grey tone, lustrous in the fields with a fully struck up bust, the reverse showing some subtle frosting and relief, encapsulated and graded by NGC as PF65, the finest known specimen within the NGC census, extremely rare and superb.

The Latin legends translates on obverse as "William IV by the Grace of God, King of the Britains, Defender of the Faith," and on the reverse "4 - P" for value of fourpence.
