William IV (1830-37), gold Proof Half-Sovereign, 1831, struck on the small size flan, bare head right, legend and toothed border surrounding, GULIELMUS IIII D: G: BRITANNIAR: REX F: D: rev. crowned quartered shield of arms in frame, ANNO 1831 below, edge plain, weight 4.00g (WR 267 R3; S.3830). Lightly toned, just a few wispy surface marks, tiny short nick on neck, otherwise practically as struck and rare.

The Latin legend translates as "William the Fourth by the grace of God, King of the Britons, Defender of the Faith."
