William IV (1830-37), gold proof Half Sovereign, 1831, struck on smaller planchet, bare head right, Latin legend and toothed border surrounding, GULIELMUS IIII D: G: BRITANNIAR: REX F: D:, rev. crowned quartered shield of arms in frame, date ANNO 1831 below, edge plain (WR 267 R3; Hill 409E; S.3830). Almost proof as struck with strong eye appeal, some small scratches in obverse fields, graded by PCGS as PR64 CAMEO.

The Latin legend translates as "William the Fourth by the grace of God, King of the Britons, Defender of the Faith."
