William III (1694-1702), silver Crown, 1700, third laureate and draped bust variety right, legend and toothed border surrounding, GVLIELMVS. III. DEI. GRA., rev. crowned cruciform shields, third type Irish harp with eight strings, Lion of Nassau at centre with seven billets, date either side of top crown, .MAG. BR.FRA. ET.HIB. REX., edge inscribed in raised letters and dated, +.DECVS. ET. TVTAMEN. ANNO. REGNI. DVODECIMO., weight 29.97g (Bull 1010; ESC 97; S.3474). A little unevenly toned with mint brilliance, darker patch of tone around obverse legend and a couple of adjustment marks across the face, otherwise well struck, reverse better, iridescent in hand and a very nice example, graded by NGC as MS62.

NGC Certification 6674855-012

The Latin legends translate as on the obverse "William the Third by the Grace of God," and abbreviated on the reverse as "King of Great Britain, France and Ireland" and on the edge as "an ornament and a safeguard, in the twelfth year of his reign."
