William III (1694-1702), silver Sixpence, 1697, third laureate and draped bust right, legend and toothed border surrounding, GVLIELMVS. III. DEI. GRA., rev. crowned cruciform shields, large crowns, Lion of Nassau at centre, date either side of top crown, .MAG BR.FRA ET.HIB REX. (Bull 1233; ESC 1566; S.3538). A superb example with strong residual mint lustre, graded by CGS as UNC 80.

CGS Certification 0017033-SP.W3.1697.23.

The Latin legends translate as on the obverse "William III by the Grace of God," and abbreviated on the reverse as "King of Great Britain, France and Ireland."
