William III 1696 Crown OCTAVO, third bust, attractively toned, MS63
William III (1694-1702), silver Crown, 1696, third laureate and draped bust right, legend and toothed border surrounding, GVLIELMVS. III. DEI. GRA. rev. crowned cruciform shields, Lion of Nassau at centre, early harp with six strings, date either side of top crown, .MAG. BR.FRA. ET.HIB. REX. edge inscribed in raised letters and dated, +.+.DECVS. ET. TVTAMEN. .ANNO. REGNI. OCTAVO., 29.62g (Bull 1004; ESC 94; S.3472). Attractively toned, some old nicks on cheek and short scratch in obverse field, a couple of raised die flaws on reverse, graded by NGC as MS63.

The Latin legends translate as on the obverse "William III by the Grace of God," and abbreviated on the reverse as "King of Great Britain, France and Ireland." and additionally on the edge "An ornament and a safeguard, in the eighth year of the reign."
