William and Mary 1694 Guinea, conjoined busts, AU58

William and Mary (1688-94), gold Guinea, 1694, conjoined busts right, Latin legend and toothed border surrounding, GVLIELMVS. ET. MARIA. DEI. GRATIA., toothed border around rim both sides, rev. crowned quartered shield of arms, date either side of crown, MAG. BR. FR. ET. HIB . REX. ET. REGINA., weight 8.29g (Schneider 473; EGC 375; Farey 360; MCE 159; S.3427). Toned, with light surface marks and hairlines, has been slabbed and graded by NGC as AU58.

NGC Certification 2130742-008 - As of June 2023 we note this coin ties for finest graded at NGC though there are two slightly finer ones on the PCGS census.

The Latin legends translate to on obverse "William and Mary by the Grace of God" continuing on the reverse as "King and Queen of Great Britain, France and Ireland."

The coinage outputs for the calendar year of 1694 were relatively low with only £57,426 worth of gold and a mere £160 of silver.
