William and Mary (1688-94), silver Shilling, 1693, conjoined laureate and draped busts right, legend surrounding, GVLIELMVS. ET. MARIA. DEI. GRATIA, toothed border around rim both sides, rev crowned cruciform shields, WM monogram in angles, Lion of Nassau at centre, date surrounding, MAG. BR. ER. ET. HI. REX. ET. REGINA. weight 5.88g (Bull 868; ESC 1076; S.3437). Toned, some flecking and light marks, very fine and very rare.
The Latin legends translate as on the obverse "William and Mary by the Grace of God," and abbreviated on the reverse as "King and Queen of Great Britain, France and Ireland."
