William and Mary (1688-94), silver Halfcrown, 1693, conjoined laureate and draped busts right, Latin legend surrounding, GVLIELMVS. ET. MARIA. DEI. GRATIA, toothed border around rim both sides, rev. crowned cruciform shields, WM monogram in angles, Lion of Nassau at centre, date surrounding, MAG. BR. ER. ET. HI. REX. ET. REGINA. edge inscribed in raised letters and dated, .+.DECVS. ET. TVTAMEN. ANNO. REGNI. QVINTO.+., 15.02g (Bull 859; ESC 521B; S.3436). Toned, a pleasing very fine, some elements a little bolder.
The Latin legends translate as on the obverse "William and Mary by the Grace of God," and abbreviated on the reverse as "King and Queen of Great Britain, France and Ireland."
