Victoria (1837-1901), silver Crown, 1899 LXIII, old veiled head left, T.B. below for engraver Thomas Brock, legend and toothed border around rim, VICTORIA. DEI. GRA. BRITT. REGINA. FID. DEF. IND. IMP. rev. St George slaying dragon, date in exergue, B.P. to upper right for designer Benedetto Pistrucci, edge inscribed in raised letters, *DECVS ET TVTAMEN* ANNO REGNI LXIII (Bull 2607; ESC 317; Davies 531 dies 3+E; S.3937). Toned, some light marks only, has been slabbed and graded by NGC as MS63.
NGC certification 8568194-007 with Peh Family Collection label. As of February 2026 we note NGC have graded 71 examples of this date and edge year of which only 7 are finer than this coin. For comparison PCGS have graded 35 examples of which only four are finer.
Mintage 166,300
The Latin legends translates on obverse as "Victoria by the Grace of God, Queen of the Briton's, Defender of the Faith, Empress of India." And on the edge "An ornament and a safeguard, in the sixty first year of the reign."
