Victoria (1837-1901), silver Shilling, 1897, older veiled head left, T.B. below for engraver Thomas Brock, legend surrounding, VICTORIA. DEI. GRA.BRITT. REGINA. FID. DEF. IND. IMP., rev. three crowned emblematic shields alternating with emblems in the circle of the Latin Garter motto HONI. SOIT. QUI. MAL. Y. PENSE, beaded circles with value in words and date surrounding, edge milled, weight 5.65g (ESC 1366; Davies 1021; Bull 3162; S.3940A). Some blotches of tone around rim, otherwise extremely fine.
