Victoria 1897 Halfpenny

Victoria (1837-1901), bronze Halfpenny, 1897, older veiled bust left, raised T. B. below for engraver Thomas Brock, legend and toothed border surrounding, VICTORIA. DEI. GRA. BRITT. REGINA. FID. DEF. IND. IMP. rev. Britannia seated right with trident and shield, higher sea level, denomination in words surrounding, date in exergue (Freeman 374, dies 1+C; S.3962). Dusky tone with near full lustre, otherwise uncirculated.

The Latin legend translates as "Victoria, by the grace of God, Queen of the Britons, Defender of the Faith, Empress of India."
