Victoria (1837-1901),gold Five Pounds, 1893, crowned and veiled bust left, T.B. initials below truncation for engraver Thomas Brock, legend and toothed border surrounding, VICTORIA· DEI· GRA· BRITT· REGINA· FID· DEF· IND· IMP·,rev.St George and dragon right, date in exergue, B.P. to upper right of exergue, weight 39.78g (Schneider 657; Hill F33; S.3872).Fields both sides very finely and expertly tooled to enhance the quality of the coin in an attempt to give a proof appearance altering the surface and with a pleasing light red colour, therefore light in weight.
