Victoria 1893 Halfcrown, older veiled head

Victoria (1837-1901), silver Halfcrown, 1893, older crowned and veiled bust left, T.B. below for designer Thomas Brock, Latin legend and toothed border surrounding, VICTORIA. DEI. GRA. BRITT . REG. rev. crowned spade shaped quartered shield of arms, within Order of the Garter, date either side of St George at bottom, denomination HALF to left, CROWN to right, upper half with legend FID. DEF. IND. IMP. weight 14.13g (Bull 2778, Davies 660 dies 1+A; ESC 726; S.3938). Lightly toned, uncirculated.

The Latin legends translates on obverse as "Victoria by the Grace of God, Queen of the Briton's," and on the reverse as " Defender of the Faith, Empress of India."
