Victoria (1837-1901), gold Sovereign, 1887, Jubilee bust left, angled J type J.E.B. on truncation for engraver J Edgar Boehm, Latin legend and toothed border surrounding, VICTORIA D:G: BRITT: REG: F:D:, rev. St. George and Dragon right, short tail to horse, date in exergue, small B.P. initials to upper right for designer Benedetto Pistrucci, edge milled, 7.98g (Bentley 323; DISH L7; Marsh 125D; S.3866). An appealing example with strong residual mint lustre, light scratching by rear legs of horse, graded by NGC as MS62.
