Victoria (1837-1901), gold Sovereign, 1887, Sydney Mint, Jubilee bust left, J.E.B. on truncation with hooked J for engraver J Edgar Boehm, Latin legend and toothed border surrounding, VICTORIA D:G: BRITT: REG: F:D:, rev. St. George and Dragon right, short tail to horse, date in exergue, small B.P. initials to upper right, edge milled, 7.99g (Bentley 695; DISH S2 R2; Marsh 138A R3; S.3868A). Lightly bagmarked in the fields both sides, otherwise good very fine and extremely rare.

Calendar year mintage 62,000.

The Latin legend translates as "Victoria by the Grace of God, Queen of the Britons, Defender of the Faith."
