Victoria (1837-1901),gold Half-Sovereign, 1887, Melbourne mint, Australia, Jubilee bust left, designed by J Edgar Boehm, J.E.B. initials spread on truncation with hooked J, the last stop after B. in initials on the junction with truncation and fields, legend surrounding, VICTORIA DEI GRATIA,rev.struck en medaille, crowned quartered high shield of arms, date below either side of bottom of frame, mint mark letter M directly below frame at border teeth, legend commences lower left with toothed border surrounding, BRITANNIARUM REGINA FID: DEF: edge milled, weight 4.00g (DISH M502; Hill 483A R4; S.3870). Cleaned, scratch behind bust, otherwise near extremely fine and extremely rare.

The Latin legend translates as "Victoria by the grace of God," on obverse and as "Queen of the Britains, Defender of the Faith" on the reverse.
