Victoria (1837-1901), gold Half Sovereign, 1885, fifth young head left in lower relief, type A5, date below, VICTORIA DEI GRATIA, toothed border around rim both sides, rev. crowned quartered shield of arms in frame, cross on crown intrudes border teeth, BRITANNIARUM REX FID: DEF: weight 3.99g (Marsh 459; S.3861). Toned, surface marks, very fine.

Calendar year Mintage 4,333,605.

The Latin legends translates on obverse as "Victoria by the Grace of God," and on the reverse as "Queen of the Britains, Defender of the Faith."
