Victoria (1837-1901),gold Sovereign, 1880, first young filleted head left of the third style, W.W. complete on truncation for engraver William Wyon, date below, Latin legend and toothed border surrounding, VICTORIA DEI GRATIA,rev. St George and dragon right, short tail to horse, two spurs of hair in upper left curve, date in exergue, trace of BP initials to upper right, only part of the B visible, weight 7.95g (Bentley 1225; Marsh 91E; S.3856F).Toned unevenly with handling and bagmarks, a bold fine.

The Latin legends translates on obverse as "Victoria by the Grace of God Queen of the Britain's, Defender of the Faith."
