Victoria (1837-1901),gold Sovereign, 1880, first young filleted head left of the third style, W.W. complete on truncation for engraver William Wyon, date below, Latin legend and toothed border surrounding, VICTORIA DEI GRATIA,rev. St George and dragon right, short tail to horse, two extra spurs of hair in upper left curve, date in exergue, no B P initials to upper right (Bentley 316; Marsh 91C; S.3856E).Toned unevenly with handling and bagmarks, good very fine.

The Latin legends translates on obverse as "Victoria by the Grace of God Queen of the Britain's, Defender of the Faith."
