Victoria (1837-1901), gold Half Sovereign, 1876, die number 16 on reverse, second young head left, type A3, date below, VICTORIA DEI GRATIA, toothed border around rim both sides, rev. crowned quartered shield of arms in frame, die number 16 below, Latin legend and toothed border surrounding, BRITANNIARUM REX FID: DEF:, weight 4.00g (Hill 450A; Bull 1282; S.3860D). Toned with light surface marks, good very fine, the die number not listed in Hill or Bull rare.
Calendar year mintage 2,804,187.
The Latin legends translates on obverse as "Victoria by the Grace of God," and on the reverse as "Queen of the Britons, Defender of the Faith."
