Victoria 1875 Pattern Shilling

Victoria (1837-1901), Pattern silver Shilling, 1875, with Sovereign style reverse, coronetted head left, designed by Leonard C Wyon, legend VICTORIA DEI GRATIA BRITANNIAR: REG: F: D: toothed border around rim both sides, rev. struck en medaille, St George and dragon right, designed by Benedetto Pistrucci, WWP under broken lance initials of William Wellesley Pole, small date in exergue, edge milled, weight 5.39g (Bull 3134 R6; ESC 1404 R6; Davies 967). Attractively toned, practically as struck, and of the highest rarity.

The Latin legends translates on obverse as "Victoria by the Grace of God, Queen of the Britons, Defender of the Faith."
