Victoria (1837-1901), gold Sovereign, 1874 S, Sydney Mint, first young filleted head left of the third style, W.W. raised but incomplete on truncation for engraver William Wyon, date below, Latin legend and toothed border surrounding, VICTORIA DEI GRATIA, rev. St George and dragon right, long tail to horse, date in exergue, small B.P. initials to upper right, weight 7.99g (Bentley 677; McDonald 148; Marsh 113; S.3858A). Lightly toned, with light surface marks, good very fine.

Calendar year mintage 1,899,000

The Latin legends translates on obverse as "Victoria by the Grace of God Queen of the Briton's, Defender of the Faith."
