Victoria (1837-1901), gold Half-Sovereign, 1872, die number 391 on reverse, second young head left, type A3, date below, VICTORIA DEI GRATIA, toothed border around rim both sides, rev. crowned quartered shield of arms in frame, die number below, Latin legend and toothed border surrounding, BRITANNIARUM REX FID: DEF:, weight 3.93g (Hill 447; Bull 1277; S.3860D). Toned with surface marks, a bold Fine, reverse better, the highest die number of the date.

Calendar year mintage 3,235,112.

The Latin legends translates on obverse as "Victoria by the Grace of God," and on the reverse as "Queen of the Britons, Defender of the Faith."
