Victoria 1872 Half-Sovereign

Victoria (1837-1901), gold Half Sovereign, 1872, die number 308, third young head left, type A3, date below, VICTORIA DEI GRATIA, toothed border around rim both sides, rev. crowned quartered shield of arms in frame, die number 308 below, BRITANNIARUM REX FID: DEF: weight 3.98g (Marsh 447; S.3860D). Lightly toned some surface marks, practically very fine.

The Latin legends translates on obverse as "Victoria by the Grace of God," and on the reverse as "Queen of the Britons, Defender of the Faith."

Calendar Year Mintage 3,235,112.
