Victoria (1837-1901), gold Half Sovereign, 1870 die number 41 on reverse, second larger young head left, type A2, date below, VICTORIA DEI GRATIA, rev. crowned quartered shield of arms in frame, tiny raised dot just above centre of shield on vertical dividing line, die number below, no top serif to 1, BRITANNIARUM REX FID: DEF: weight 3.93g (Marsh 445; S.3860). Toned, almost fine and rare.

Calendar year Mintage 981,408.

The Latin legends translates on obverse as "Victoria by the Grace of God," and on the reverse as "Queen of the Britains, Defender of the Faith."
