Victoria (1837-1901), copper Proof Half-Farthing, 1868, young head left, legend and toothed border surrounding, VICTORIA D: G: BRITANNIAR: REGINA F: D:, rev. crown over three line inscription with emblematic spray below, HALF / FARTHING/ 1868, weight 2.33g (Peck 1604; S.3951). Toned practically as struck, and seemingly missed the bronzing process in striking, extremely rare.
The Latin legend translates as "Victoria by the grace of God, Queen of the Britons, Defender of the Faith."
