Victoria 1863 Halfpenny
Victoria (1837-1901), bronze Halfpenny, 1863, small 3, laureate "bun style" bust left, legend and toothed border surrounding, VICTORIA D: G: BRITT: REG: F: D: rev. Britannia seated right with trident and shield, denomination in words surrounding, date in exergue, weight 5.72g (Freeman 294, dies 7+G; S.3956). Lightly toned, one tiny spot on obverse, small patch on reverse rim otherwise nearly full lustre, uncirculated and rare.
The Latin legend translates as "Victoria by the grace of God, Queen of the Britons, Defender of the Faith."
