Victoria (1837-1901), gold Half Sovereign, 1861, second larger young head left, type A2, date below, VICTORIA DEI GRATIA, normal toothed border around rim both sides, rev. crowned quartered shield of arms in frame, die number below, BRITANNIARUM REX FID: DEF:, weight 3.99g (Marsh 435; Bull EGC 1259; S.3859A). Toned, good extremely fine, a pleasing example.

Calendar year Mintage 1,130,867.

The Latin legends translates on obverse as "Victoria by the Grace of God," and on the reverse as "Queen of the Britains, Defender of the Faith."
