Victoria (1837-1901), gold Sovereign, 1860, letter O in Queen's name struck over a letter C, tall 0 in date with bulbous 6, second young filleted head left, W.W. incuse on truncation for engraver William Wyon, date below, Latin legend and toothed border surrounding, VICTORIA DEI GRATIA, rev. crowned quartered shield of arms, laurel wreath surrounding, emblems below, Latin legend and toothed border surrounding, BRITANNIARUM REGINA FID: DEF:, weight 7.98g (Bentley 82; Hill 43C R; Bull EGC 1137 R; S.3852D). Toned, the variety clear as is the tall O, some surface nicks, scratch behind neck, otherwise a good fine, rare.

Calendar year mintage 2,555,958

The Latin legends translates on obverse as "Victoria by the Grace of God," and on the reverse "Queen of the Briton's, Defender of the Faith."
