Victoria 1855 Groat

Victoria (1837-1901), silver Groat, 1855, young filleted head left, Latin legend and toothed border surrounding, VICTORIA D: G: BRITANNIAR: REGINA F: D: rev. Britannia seated right with trident and shield, date in exergue, FOUR PENCE legend surrounding, weight 1.87g (Bull 3352; ESC 1953; Davies 1233; S.3913). Toned, some ghosting on reverse, otherwise good very fine.

The Latin legend translates as "Victoria by the grace of God, Queen of the Britons, Defender of the Faith."
