Victoria 1841 Maundy Set, young head graded MS62-66

Victoria (1837-1901), silver Maundy set, 1841, Four, Three, Two and One Pence, each with young head of Queen left, legend and toothed border surrounding, VICTORIA D: G: BRITANNIAR: REGINA F: D:, rev. crowned mark of value with date either side all within oak wreath (Bull 3484; ESC 2451; S.3916).Toned, all have been slabbed and graded by NGC as 4D=MS64, 3D=MS66, 2D=MS62, 1D=MS65, a rare date.

The calendar year mintage for all four denominations for the year 1841 would produce 2,574 Maundy sets.

The abbreviated Latin legend on the obverse translates as "Victoria by the Grace of God, Queen of the Britains, Defender of the Faith."
