Victoria (1837-1901), silver Shilling, 1840, second young filleted head left, VICTORIA DEI GRATIA BRITANNIAR: REG: F: D: rev. crowned mark of value within laurel and oak wreath, date below, weight 5.63g (Bull 2983; ESC 1285 R2; Davies 854; S.3904). Lightly toned, some spots and flecks, otherwise extremely fine and rare.

The Latin legend translates as "Victoria by the grace of God, Queen of the Britons, Defender of the Faith."
