Victoria 1839 bronzed proof Halfpenny PF63BN

Victoria (1837-1901), Bronzed Proof copper Halfpenny, 1839, young filleted head left, date below, legend and toothed border surrounding, VICTORIA DEI GRATIA, rev. Britannia seated right with trident and shield, legend and toothed border surrounding, BRITANNIAR: REG: FID: DEF: emblems in exergue (Peck 1523; S.3949). A few tiny specks and spots on obverse, one larger one on reverse, otherwise toned with proof brilliance, practically as struck, has been graded by NGC as PF63BN, becoming very rare in the UK market-place.

NGC Certification 5880648-017.

The Latin legends translate as on obverse "Victoria, by the grace of God," and on the reverse "Queen of the Britains, Defender of the Faith."
