Vespasian (A.D. 69-79), AE Dupondius. Mint of Rome, struck A.D. 71. IMP CAES VESPASIAN AVG COS III, radiate head facing right, rev. ROMA (in exergue), S-C-, Roma seated left on a cuirass, holding a wreath and a parazonium, shields behind her, 15.01g., 6h (RIC 279; BMC 591). Excellent portrait, beautiful glossy dark green patina, extremely fine, with a fine old pedigree.
