Theodosius II (A.D. 402-450), Gold Solidus, Mint of Constantinople, struck A.D. 430-40, DN THEODO - SIVS PF AVG, helmeted, pearl-diademed and cuirassed bust facing, holding a spear in his right hand, and a shield decorated with horseman and enemy motif, rev. VOT XXX - MVLT XXXX S, Constantinopolis enthroned to left, holding cross on globe and sceptre, a shield resting beside the throne, a star in the right field, CONOB in exergue, 4.47g, 6h (Depeyrot 81/1; RIC 257).
