Theodosius I (379-395), gold Solidus, Constantinople, 388-392, officina Δ, D N THEODO-SIVS P F AVG, rosette-diademed, draped and cuirassed bust right, rev. Constantinopolis, helmeted and head to right, seated facing on throne decorated with lion heads, her right foot set on prow, holding sceptre in her right hand and shield inscribed VOT / V / MVL / X with her left, 4.44g, 12h (RIC IX, 68b3 cf 70b3). Well centred and extremely fine.
