The Lamentation of Christ, rectangular, gilt-bronze plaquette, for inclusion in a Pax, northern Italy, c. 1525, perhaps the work of Antonio di Paolo Fabbri, known as Antonio da San Marino, though also attributed to others, 110mm x 85mm. An original cast, some of the gilding lightly worn, pierced at 12 o'clock, good very fine, important and rare.
