Siculo-Punic (c. 300 B.C.), Silver Tetradrachm. Head of Tanit-Persephone facing left, wearing a wreath of corn-ears, a triple-pendant earring and a necklace, a cockleshell below chin, four dolphins around, rev. horse's head facing left, with arched truncation, a date-palm behind, Punic legend 'MMHNT below, 16.99g., 9h (Jenkins, 'Coins of Punic Sicily', Part 3, SNR 56, 1977, 164 (O49/R147); SNG Lockett 1051 (these dies); SNG Ashmolean 2159 (these dies)). Superb Classical style, toned, extremely fine, a beautiful coin.
