Sicily, Syracuse, Agathokles (317-289 B.C.), Silver Stater. Struck c. 304-289 B.C. Head of Athena facing left, wearing a Corinthian helmet, rev. Pegasos flying left, triskeles below its forelegs, 6.86g., 3h (Calciati, Pegasi, 17; SNG Ashmolean 2082; SNG ANS 682-5). Very light traces of double-striking on obverse, beautiful old cabinet tone, well-struck and extremely fine, an attractive coin.
