Scotland, William and Mary (1688-94),silver Twenty Shillings, 1693, conjoined laureate and draped busts left, value 20 below, legend and toothed border surrounding, GVLIELMVS. ET. MARIA. DEI. GRATIA, pellet stops,rev.crowned quartered shield of arms, with an escutcheon of the Lion of Nassau, date in legend, MAG. BR. FR. ET. HIB. REX. ET. REGINA. 1693., all stops week, edge milled weight 9.12g (Burns 1, fig.1067; S.C.B.I. 35:1702-3; S.5657).Toned, some hairline scratches and nicks both sides, a bold fine for this two year issue, rare.
The Latin legends translate as on the obverse "William and Mary by the grace of God," and on the reverse as "King and Queen of Great Britain, France and Ireland."
