Scotland, James VI 1594 Thirty-Pence, 7th coinage
Scotland, James VI (1567-1625), silver Thirty Pence, seventh coinage, bare headed bust in armour right, inner toothed linear circles both sides, legend surrounds IACOBVS 6 G D G R SCOTORVM, rev. crowned triple-headed thistle, NEMO ME IMPVNE LACESSIT 1594, weight 1.39g (SCBI Scottish coins 35:1276-77; SCBI Edinburgh 58:1547; Burns 1, fig. 941; S.5495). Toned some honest wear, scratches on bust, good fine.
The Latin legends translates as on the obverse "James the Sixth, by the grace of God, King of Scotland" and on the reverse as "No one shall hurt me with impunity."
