Scotland, James IV (1488-1513), light coinage (1496-1513), billon Plack of Fourpence, type II without QRA in legend, Scottish arms in tressure of four arcs, three lis arched crowns in spandrels, beaded circles and legend surrounding, fleur de lis stops, +IACOBVS. DEI. GRACIA. REX. SCOTOR, rev. saltire cross at centre of ornate cross, crowns in angles, beaded circles and legend surrounding, fleur de lis stops, +VIL LA. D E. EDI nBURG, weight 2.01g (Burns 7a, fig 689; SCBI 35 [Ashmolean], 852-61' S.5349). Good very fine, rare so well preserved.

The abbreviated Latin legends translate as on the obverse "James, by the Grace of God, King of Scotland" and on the reverse "The town of Edinburgh."
