Scotland, Charles I (1625-49), silver Twenty Pence, third coinage (1637-42), Thomas Falconer's first issue (1637-38), type V without F on reverse, crowned bust left touching inner linear circle, value XX behind head, inner linear circle legend and outer beaded circle surrounding both sides, legend commences top right, initial mark lozenge, pellet stops, `CAR. D. G. SCOT. ANG. FR. &. HIB. R, rev. crowned thistle, legend commences upper right, .IVST. THRONVM. FIRMAT., weight 1.08g (Burns 31; S.5591). Toned very fine, reverse good very fine and pleasing.

The abbreviated Latin legends translate as on the obverse "Charles by the Grace of God, King of Scotland, England, France and Ireland" and on the reverse "The safety of the State is the supreme law."
