Scotland,Charles I (1625-49),silver Twenty Pence, third coinage (1637-42), Thomas Falconer's second issue, type IV possibly with F on reverse, crowned bust left within inner linear circle, value XX behind head, inner linear circle legend and outer beaded circle surrounding both sides, legend commences top right, pellet stops, initial mark pellet, .CAR. D. G. SCOT. ANG. FR. &. HIB. R,rev.crowned thistle, legend commences upper right, .IVST. THRONVM. FIRMAT., the letter O struck over an R or A, weight 0.89g (Burns 48; S.5591/5590).Toned, with slight bend in flan, a bold fine and rare with the overstruck legend.

The abbreviated Latin legends translate as on the obverse "Charles by the Grace of God, King of Scotland, England, France and Ireland" and on the reverse "The safety of the State is the supreme law."
