Scotland, Anne 1705 Five-Shillings MS63 the Finest graded
Scotland, Anne (1702-14), silver Five Shillings, 1705, draped bust left, value 5 below bust, legend around ANNA. DEI. GRATIA., rev. crowned thistle plant, date in legend surrounding, NEMO. ME. IMPVNE. LACESSET. 1705 (Burns 1 fig.1084; S.5702). Toned and free of adjustment marks, with mint bloom around legend and some flecking each side, otherwise has been slabbed and graded by NGC as MS63 and very rare so well preserved, currently by far the finest graded.
NGC certification 6671857-003. As of November 2022 this coin is by far the finest graded at both services.
The Latin legends translates as on the obverse "Anne, by the grace of God," and on the reverse as "No one shall hurt me with impunity."
