Scotland, Alexander III (1249-86), silver Penny or Sterling, second coinage (c.1280-86), type Mb, crowned head left, large face, composite crown, sceptre before, Latin legend and beaded borders surrounding both sides, +ALEXANDER DEI GRA, the ND ligatured, rev. long cross pattee, pierced six pointed mullets in each inner quarter, total of 24 points, Latin legend and beaded borders surrounding both sides, REX SCO TOR VM+ weight 1.43g (S.5054). Toned with a little weakness in striking, good very fine.

The legends translate as "Alexander by the grace of God" on the obverse and "King of the Scottish" on the reverse.
