Ayyubid, al-Nasir Salah al-Din Yusuf I, Saladin, (AH 564-589 / 1169-93 AD), gold Dinar, al-Qahira, AH 586, two marginal inscriptions, and a central inscription in two lines, on both obverse and reverse, naming the Abbasid caliph al-Nasir, as commander of the faithful in the inner obverse marginal legend, and, on the reverse naming Saladin in the inner marginal legend as, 'âdil, al malik, 'âlim, salah al din, with "triskeles" above 'âdil and 'âlim, and in two lines at the centre, as Yusuf b. Ayyub, ["Joseph" son of "Job"], 3.99g, 11h (A 785.2). Well struck, clear mint and date, good very fine.
